Norway Tour (Post 1)
Hello from Tromso….I’m sitting in the apartment that we are staying in just about to go to bed but thought i’d first of all just update this. As I said in Jan its my objective to do so more thoughout the year.
First gig of the tour was last night at Dreamcatcher. It’s a lovely venue which produced a great night for all. We played two sets and were lucky enough to receive and encore to close the night. After the gig we headed to a jam night in a small club in Tromso which was full of fantastic musicians and a house band to lead the way. The guitarist had some serious licks!! I regret to say I didn’t play but the boys got up and had a jam through mustang sally. I’ve discovered over the course of two trips to Tromso that there is definitely a thriving music scene with some very talented artists. One of which I met last night called Dagny Norvoll Sandvik who is about to start working with Sasha Skabek, the man behind James Blunts “You’re Beautiful”. Do go check her out.
Today has been a day of nothingness in the best possible way. I’ve perfected the art of two card games and tried a tradional Norwegain dish. Don’t expect me to be able to spell it though. It was nice, we’ll leave it at that. Tomorrow we make the 7 hour road journey beside the fjords and over the mountains up to Alta and hope that it’s as busy as it was last time. Everythings crossed for a great night. It really should be.
